CLUBS AND COUNCILS

Arts Council

The Arts Council will help to organize arts specific events, help create banners for these events (and are willing to help other councils/committees by providing artwork), help backstage with the moving of music equipment between acts, lead arts initiatives throughout the year.

Arts Club

Art Club is a collaborative space where students take turns each week leading and teaching arts and crafts activities, with each meeting typically ending in a completed piece to take home.

Black Student Union

An organization that advocates for the needs of Black students while educating, exploring, discussing and celebrating the Black experience at West Hill CI.

Business Club

Community of students interested in business studies (incl. marketing, entrepreneurship, etc); increase awareness about post-secondary options in the field, scholarships, business contests for high school students, co-curricular business related programs in the community (eg. Junior Achievement); share relevant resources.

CHOIR

The West Hill Choir will perform at various school events throughout the years such as commencement, Remembrance Day and will also participate in Toronto vocal festivals and community initiatives.

Christian Fellowship

Weekly gathering for those who wish to join a comfortable space to eat, play games, watch films, listen to music and socialize with a Christian focus. All are welcome! You do not need to self identify as Christian to attend.

Drama Club

Drama Club participants will learn, rehearse and experiment with a variety of dramatic texts including monologues, dialogues and will work toward a final play at the end of the year.

ESL Club

Students have the opportunity to play classic board games that are popular in North American culture and play soccer to enjoy some physical activity. Basically hang out with friends and have fun

Gender Sexuality Alliance

A safe space for our LGBTQ2S+ students/staff/allies to come together

IMANI

Black mentorship program that also provides tutoring, promoting pathways to post secondary.

Library Volunteers

Students will learn how to shelve books, make displays, tackle tech in the library (if interested), work the catalogue system and at the same time will be able to make new friends.

Muslim Student Association

The goal of our club is to support and create a community for Muslim students in which they can talk to and get to know other young Muslims. Muslim and non Muslim students can learn about the rules and ethics of Islam, as well as incorporating fun, exciting experiences and philanthropic ventures.

Music Club

Music Council is a small group of dedicated students who support the operation of the music department's classes and clubs, be it through technical work (such as repairs and inventory), fundraising initiatives, or concert and performance planning. Members play an essential role in keeping the music department running smoothly and nurturing our lovely community.

Peer Tutors

Students are trained to tutor students in various subjects.

Robotics Club

Building, programming, and competing in CETA robotics competition in May 2023

STEM +

Students will complete STEM + projects.

Student Activity Council

SAC is responsible for the initiation and promotion of extra-curricular and social activities throughout the school community.

Tamil Student Association

The Tamil Student Association is a student-led group that celebrates Tamil culture, traditions, and community through events, discussions, and performances. It provides a welcoming space for students to connect, share experiences, and promote cultural awareness at school.

West Hill Athletic Council

WHAC is a student group that supports the school's athletic teams and runs intramural activities. WHAC's main goals are to get students involved with physical activities and to celebrate the athletes and coaches in the building.

WHCI Dance Team

Dance Team will prioritize performance-based creations for upcoming school and larger community events. Teams get to train in a variety of dance styles while building confidence and stage experience at a more competitive level.

West Hill CI Debate Club

Students will propose debate topics, research arguments and formally debate resolutions in teams of three or more on a weekly basis.

West Hill CI Tour Guides

Students provide tours of the school for new registrants.

WHCI Weight Room Club

Students meet to work out in a supervised weight room.

West Hill Wellness Warriors

Students meet weekly to plan initiatives that support mental health and wellness among staff and students at WHCI.

Yearbook Team

Design layouts and make photographic contributions to the yearbook.
